The Lantern's Oath

A retro platformer under the earth, in the Lost Garden universe. Lanterne, twelfth of the thirteen knights, crosses one big map in eight zones: the blue forest, the ledges, the roots, the deep path, Serrure's tavern, the graveyard of machines. Dodge roll, charged glimmer, a light to hide, and the Machine at the end.

Lanterne sleeps in the moss. Sign in with your Lost Garden account to wake him: the same account opens the member area, the episodes and the making-of.

The lantern is lighting…

What you will meet

  • One big map, eight zones in a row: the Waking, the Ledges, the Descent of the Roots, the Pilgrims' Gong, the Deep Path, Serrure's Tavern, the Graveyard of Machines, the Arena.
  • The Pack: wolf-shaped masses of ash that sleep by the deep paths and throw themselves at any light. Crouched, your lantern hides: you can slip past. A charged glimmer on a sleeping beast hits twice as hard.
  • The Sleepers: cocooned in the roots. A blow or a lingering light wakes them; they are slow but tough. Ash moths fly to your lantern. Glowing beetles crawl the ground: throw low or stomp them.
  • The Scaled Ones watch from the shadows and vanish when approached: they are not enemies. The polite jellyfish of the pit serve as platforms. The roots of the Source Tree break through the moss after a tremor.
  • The pilgrims' gong and Serrure's tavern mend the armour and serve as checkpoints. At Serrure's, three lilies are worth a heart. The Machine, at the end of the graveyard, stomps, fires a beam and calls the beetles at half health.
  • Esc opens the in-game options: music, sound effects, language (French or English), controls. Three hits and the armour sinks into the moss. Lanterne never speaks.
